Coltrane Research
This page presents my doctoral research into the improvisational structures found in John Coltrane's later music, focusing on the 1967 recordings Stellar Regions and Interstellar Space. Three documents are available here of which the first is an Accepted Manuscript published by Taylor & Francis in Jazz Perspectives on 20 April 2020, available online at: http://www.tandfonline.com/10.1080/17494060.2020.1734055
Following this is my doctoral thesis which is divided into two volumes: Volume I as primarily text, and Volume II as appendices containing musical transcriptions and analytical illustrations.
